So, as of now, you have two options with the frames: 1.) Get the Aura Carver which has a different wifi chip - lower res (HD vs 2K), and cannot do Portrait natively - imo, not as good, and the price reflects it. Not sure why *just* the Eero's are impacted, but this is NOT an Eero problem!

I tried with 2 different households, both with Eero pro 6s - and the bad chips/frames did not work at both places. They have since sent me 3 frames to try, and 2 had serials in the same batch (first 2 numbers) and both did not work. It seems they did in fact have a batch of bad wifi chips, and Aura is now discovering this + trying to find which frames were part of that batch/how widespread it is. really a shame.įinal update: (and I updated my longer post with Update3) - got to the bottom of it. so I think I will return all 3 non-working mason luxes and the 1 working carter luxe. u/eventual_throwaway I think your carter luxe will work, based on my experience as my carter luxe works. Same issue with my 3rd mason luxe.Īfter trying for quite awhile - I did see that the frame was showing in the Aura App but it still wasn't connected to wifi like /u/codenigma describes and so I was able to add photos to the frame in the app but they would never display. Aura frames sent me a another replacement. So I returned it to amazon and ordered a replacement. Could not get it to connect, tried all the things /u/nuschu did (troubleshooting, disable 5ghz).
I liked it, but wanted a vertical display - so I bought a mason luxe from amazon. At first I bought a carter luxe (which only displays photos horizontally) I was able to connect it to my eero with no problems.
TLDR: Aura had a bad batch of wifi chips - they are painfully aware of this, and now hunting down to check which frames are part of that batch. Tried my luck with another from Amazon, which seems have have all kinds of inventory (old and new), and hoping that will get me an older batch. The company sent me one (Carver) from another batch - and that worked without any issue.

Update3: received another (replacement) frame from Aura directly - it did not work, but after digging in with the company, it seems they had a bad batch of wifi chips, and I did verify the serial is from the same batch. At this point, I am convinced its a bad wifi chip. Then the second picture would not sync and it would not hop back on. It worked long enough to set it up and push a picture and dropped off again.

Update: they shipped out a free replacement. I was about to return it, but reached out to Aura first just to get their take.
Its a shame because the frames are by far the best on the market (especially the 2K looks like you are there), and the app is years ahead of everyone else.Įero support also told me multiple customers this week have had this issue - from none connecting to a few connecting. Thinking the same thing you came to - crapy/weird wifi chipsets. Changed the ssid+pass of the hotspot to the main one, re-setup the frame, saw it obviously and then rebooted the frame and shutdown the hotspot (goal was to eliminate setup) - didn’t work on main with setup profile after the reboot. Seeing neighbor’s ssid.ĭid some debug, in case it’s helpful to others: Got a hotspot to connect and update the os/firmware, no difference. Same deal - disable 5G temporarily, enabled legacy mode, etc. The other has the same issue you described. So I purchased 2 of the Mason Luxe 2K 9.7” frames - two different locations both with dual uplinked Eero Pro 6s.
